It is significant to note the distinction that a wedding and a marriage are not the same. A marriage is a commitment compelled by many feelings in both of you described as love. It takes place when you both can say to one another "I love you, I want you, I need you, I want to be with you the rest of my life and in doing that I put the needs of my partner before my own ". The wedding is a formal announcement and dramatization of this bond. Family and friends are usually invited to receive the news, witness and celebrate the union. f

LOVE
(- Author Unknown )

Love is a friendship
that has caught fire.
It is quiet understanding,
Mutual confidence,
Sharing and forgiving.
It is loyalty through
good and bad.
It settles for less
than perfection,
And makes allowances
for human weakness.
Love is content
with the present.
It hopes for the future
And it doesn’t brood
over the past.
It’s the day-in and day-out
chronicle of
irritations, problems,
compromises,
Small disappointments,
big victories, and working toward common goals.
If you have love in your life,
It can make up for a great
many things you lack.
If you don’t have it,
No matter what else there is,
It is not enough,
So search for it, ask God for it,
And share it!

but the fragrance of
the good
does travel against

APACHE PRAYER

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of your will be
shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be
warmth to the other.
Now there is no
loneliness for you;
for each of you will be a companion to the other.
You are two persons,
but here is only
one life before you.
Go now to your
dwelling place to enter
into your days together.
And may your days be good
and long on the earth.

Amen

Those marriages generally abound most with love and constancy that are preceded by a long courtship.

- JOSEPH ADDISON, The Spectator, Dec. 29, 1711

Love is one long sweet dream, and marriage is the alarm clock.

-   DAVID MINKOFF, Oy!

Marriage problems are relationship problems, they are the result of how two people interact with each other. You may abandon a troubled marriage, but you will still bring the way you interact with others along with you.

HOME BLESSING

h

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
may all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.
May you enjoy fulfillment and long life.

For all in whose heart dwells respect,
who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way,
may your life prosper in the four blessings
of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.

A summer breeze can be very refreshing; but if we try to put it in a tin can so we can have it entirely to ourselves, the breeze will die. Our beloved is the same. He is like a breeze, a cloud, a flower. If you imprison him in a tin can, he will die. Yet many people do just that. They rob their loved one of his liberty, until he can no longer be himself. They live to satisfy themselves and use their loved one to help them fulfill that. That is not loving; it is destroying.

THICH NHAT HANH,

Teachings on Love

My new found meaning of Marriage is a place where you can be yourself and has breathing space to grow personally and spiritually as and when I want without having to consult my partner about my changes. It is a beautiful place without suffocation, a place where you can learn and teach each other, a place where you do not feel prohibited and a place where you do not have to log in and log out.

- JEANETTE DE JONK, Unconventional & Spiritual Marriage
